Indian Institute of Science Education and Research Bhopal, through its Centre for Science and Society, is organizing a two-day hand on experiment workshop on Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA) March 10-11, 2023. This workshop is intended for students pursuing postgraduation in various areas of biology in local colleges. 

ELISA is a biochemical assay that uses antibodies and an enzyme-mediated color change to detect the presence of either antigen (proteins, peptides, hormones, etc.) or antibody in a given sample. In an ELISA assay, the antigen is immobilized to a solid surface. This is done either directly or via the use of a capture antibody itself immobilized on the surface. The antigen is then complexed to a detection antibody conjugated with a molecule amenable for detection such as an enzyme or a fluorophore.
