About Speaker:

Prof. Himanshu Kumar is heading Laboratory of Immunology and Infectious Diseases, Department of Biological Sciences at the Indian Institute of Sceience Education and Research (IISER) Bhopal. He is working on various aspects of Innate Immunobiology. His major focus is transcriptional and translational level regulation of antiviral innate immune responses during Flu, Dengue or another virus infection.

Prof. Kumar obtained Ph.D. from Graduate School of Medicine, Osaka University, Japan (2008) and awarded as excellent Ph.D. Student of Medical School.  He obtained prestigious JSPS Post-doctoral fellowship of Japan. He moved to IISER Bhopal in 2010 as an Independent Principal Investigator to conduct Immunology teaching and research in Innate immunobiology. Prof. Kumar is a recipient of several National and International fellowships. He is also Guest Professor at Immunology Frontier Research Center (IFReC), Osaka University, Japan, a top Immunology Institution in the world. He is heading “International Reviews of Immunology” as an “Editor-in-Chief.” He is also member of prestigious National Acadamy of Science, India (NASI).
